Local Bookshops

Book Stop

3 Market St, Tavistock PL19 0DA, UK – 01822 617244

Great find. Bought naval book which was not available at various other shops I'd visited. Recommended.

A fantasticly quaint book and record emporium. Definitely one of the most unique book shops, it houses some of the finest collection of literature this side of Dartmoor. And despite being small, they also have an amazing music collection with some great gems to be found (I personally bought all of their doors albums a few years back). I find it so refreshing to see a shop bring together my two loves: music and reading. Without a doubt the best bookshop in Devon (possibly England).

Oxfam Shop

84 West St, Tavistock PL19 8AQ, UK – 01822 615534

It sells some new fairtrade and seasonal products which can be nice and useful. The thing that annoys me with Oxfam is the way items are arranged by colour. It makes the place look chaotic and finding anything a chore to the point I generally don't bother. In my opinion arranging products by type is more logical since I don't have the time or inclination to browse the entire store.

Great branch of Oxfam with really good stuff. There's also a separate Oxfam Bookshop with some fantastic bargains

ReFURNISH

Fantastic place, great prices and friendly staff.

Worth a visit if hunting furniture.
